New Delhi: Virat Kohli, the unstoppable force in international cricket, has also set the Indian Premier League (IPL) on fire with back to back blistering knocks.

While cricket pundits are falling short of words to describe his current form, the Delhi batsman revealed how he prepares himself going into any match.

In an interview to India Today, Kohli gave an interesting insight to his state of mind before he takes the field in every game.

"I check my heart-rate just before I take the field. I try to calm myself down if the heart is beating too fast as I feel I won't be able to give my best that way. After that I just to look to start my innings and explore," he said.

The 27-year-old also credited his fitness routine for making him the cricketer that he is today.

"There has been a massive change in my fitness. I started lifting weights during the Sri Lanka tour last year and that has transformed my whole body. Credit goes to Shankar Basu for working with me and the entire team," said Kohli.

Despite getting injured while fielding in the first innings against Kolkata Knight Riders in his previous match, Kohli batted throughout the innings for RCB and scored a match-winning 75-run knock.
