Maharashtra water crisis: I feel for farmers but shifting IPL matches not a solution, says VVS Laxman

New Delhi: Reacting to the ongoing issue of shifting matches out of Maharashtra due to severe water crisis in the state, former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has said that it is not the solution to the problem.

When asked about his take on the issue, Laxman said, "You will have to find the root cause of the problem. Shifting matches from Mumbai will not be the solution. I am sure the government is looking into it."

Laxman also added that he feels for the farmers and for all the places which have been suffering due to drought.

"I feel for the farmers, what they are going through. Due to the monsoon, there is shortage of water not only in Maharasthra but in the entire country," he said.

Laxman also added that even though people try to find out negatives from the Indian Premier League, the tournament has not only helped several individuals but the economy as well.
