India vs Zimbabwe: Five important things MS Dhoni said ahead of the tour

New Delhi: India's limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni spoke at length before leaving for a limited-overs series against Zimbabwe.

The skipper, who decided to play the tour while other senior players were rested, said that the tour was going to be a different experince.

Here are five important issues he spoke upon:

On captaincy:

“It is a decision that will be taken by BCCI and I can’t decide on that."

On next Indian coach:

“English is not a barrier...one of the most important thing I believe is he should understand our culture. More than the language, one who understands our upbringing and culture will be better with us."

On leading a second-fringe team:

“The reason (for it being different) being that you keep playing with almost the same group of players. So you almost know the roles and responsibilities and what each player’s strengths are. There will be quite a few players in this bilateral series with whom I’ll be playing for the first time.”

On what are his expectations from the young players:

"The guys will try to prove themselves, show what talent they’ve got to show at the international level.”

On his form and fitness:

"I have to keep myself fit. I am 35 right now and I know the day I am not able to run as fast as I am running right now, I know where are the guns coming from. Fitness is not an issue, form is something which will keep going up and down."
