Was Virat Kohli right in dropping leggie Amit Mishra for 4th Test against South Africa?

New Delhi: Indian skipper Virat Kohli surprised many on Thursday morning with his decision of dropping leggie Amit Mishra in the fourth and final Test against South Africa.

After the toss, Kohli informed that Mishra was replaced by speedster Umesh Yadav for the match.

The decision raised a few eyebrows as Mishra has performed decently in the series by picking key wickets for the skipper at crucial junctures.

In the last two Tests, the diminutive spinner has picked seven wickets, which included big wickets of AB de Villiers (twice), Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis and JP Duminy once each.

In the third Test at Nagpur, he accounted for three wickets in the last innings to help India seal the match and series.

If we go by history, then, Feroz Shah Kotla track will also started turning from Day three and would help spinners.

In fact, spinners from both the sides are playing pivotal role in the series. However, despite all that, Kohli went for Yadav in place of Mishra, which doesn't look a wise move, at least for now.
