It's STUMPS! Pujara survives a huge appeal for caught behind on the last ball of the day as India start-off 2nd innings without losing a wicket on Day 3. Gautam Gambhir came out to open despite carrying a shoulder injury but was forced off after a dive during running between the wickets saw him re-injure his shoulder.

It's all over in the first innings for New Zealand. Ashwin continued his good run as he dismissed Boult to pick his sixth wicket. India have a 258-run lead and they will bat again.

Ashwin claimed yet another five-wicket haul as he trapped Neesham in front of the wicket. Neesham went for a sweep but was deceived by flight. The replays suggested that the ball could have possibly missed the stumps. New batsman Matt Henry hit Ashwin for a boundary and a six immediately after his arrival.

Jadeja picked his second wicket of the innings when he lured Santner for a drive and he edged it to leg slip. The wicket came immediately after he had completed a fifty-run stand along with Neesham. Neesham is looking very confident at the crease. Jeetan Patel is the next man in.

Neesham completed his brilliant fifty off a sweep. There was a chance in the 77th over where Neesham hit one in the air, Pujara ran in but could not get under the ball. The partnership is now worth 40 runs.

Neesham and Santner are in the process of stitching a valuable partnership for their team. Neesham has shown a lot of positive intent where he looking to unsettle the Indian spinners with some lusty blows. The partnership is now worth 25 runs.

TEA: Brilliant session for India. 29 overs were bowled in this session where India bagged five wickets. Neesham is playing a handy knock for his team lower down the order, but he still has a lot of work to do as Kiwis trail by 341 runs with just four wickets remaining.

Jadeja picked his first wicket of the match as Watling edged one in the slip cordon where Rahane took another catch. The wicket also ended the 53-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Neesham and Watling. Mitchell Santer is the next man in and he too is pretty handy with the bat.

After losing a flurry of wickets, Watling and Neesham are in the process of resurrecting the ininings. They have done well so far, not giving Indian bowlers any more moments of glory. The visitors still trail by 382 runs. Long way to go.

Kiwis lost another wicket, a crucial one of Ronchi, who became Ashwin's fourth victim. He edged one to the wicketkeeper, but the ball richoeted off Saha's gloves but an alert Rahane dived to his right to complete the catch. Ronchi has been in fine form for the Kiwis this series and thus his wicket would be a relief for the Indian bowlers. Neesham and Watling are the two new batsmen at the crease.

India are back in the game with two more wickets. Taylor's poor form continued as he endged one to Rahane off R Ashwin. Guptill, who was batting so well, was unfortunately run out as Ashwin fielded the ball off his own bowling and it went on to hit the stumps while Guptill was away from the non-striker's end. After a brilliant start, Kiwis are wobbling here.

R Ashwin picked his second wicket of the match as he bamboozled Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson yet again. Williamson was looking to play a cut shot but the ball took an inside edge and hit the stumps. Big wicket for India. Ross Taylor is the next man in. He has scored just 57 runs from four innings. Kiwis need their experienced campaigner to raise his performance up by several notches.

LUNCH: New Zealand's session without a doubt. Guptill and Latham batted brilliantly in the first hour where they attacked Indian spinners as well. Kane Williamson would want to stitch another decent partnership with Guptill, who has done all the hard work.

R Ashwin broke the opening stand when Tom Latham hit one back to the bowler. Latham was looking to work the ball down the leg side, against the spin, but got a top edge which went straight to Ashwin. The partnership lasted for 118 runs. Kane Williamson is the new man in.

Runs are coming at a brisk pace for these two batsman. This has been a brilliant reply from the Kiwis. Guptill has completed his first fifty of the series. Latham scored three boundaries in Ashwin's eighth over. This opening stand will give a lot of confidence to the batsmen to follow. Guptill, in particular, is looking in a very attacking mode.

Brilliant batting by Guptill and Latham. They have kept the scoreboard moving by punishing the lose deliveries. Guptill attacked Jadeja in the 25th over where he hit him for a boundary followed by a superb six over wide of long-off. Kane Williamson would be delighted with this start.

Kiwi openers have done a decent job so far having added 50 runs for the opening wicket. Shami created another opportunity in the 19th over where Latham defended a ball on the pads towards the leg side. Jadeja was standing at short midwicket and despite a dive, the ball fell short of him. India have been unlucky today. Kohli might be contemplating to bring spinners from both ends soon.

Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav began the proceedings for the Indian team. Shami created an opportunity in the 13th over, where Guptill was lured to drive and he edged one towards gully where the ball went to Rahane, who surprisingly dropped it. Poor start to the day for one of India's best fielders in that position.
Day 2 totally belonged to India as a result of a record 365-run partnership between Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane. While the skipper scored his second double ton of the year, Rahane missed out on his maiden double century by 12 runs.
Rahane was battling against the short ball since Day 2, but the Mumbaikar didn't lose his focus and went on to hit his eighth Test ton.
In the latter half of the day, Rohit Sharma stepped up the gas with some lusty blows before completing his third fifty of the series.
In reply, New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and Tim Lotham did a pretty decent job of putting 28 runs on board without losing any wickets.
New Zealand still trail by 529 runs with ten wickets remaining.
The Kiwis batsmen will have to click as a unit to put some fight against the Indian spinners, who have once again been brilliant throughout the series.
