New Delhi: Karun Nair on Monday became the second Indian, after Virender Sehwag, to hit score a triple-hundred during fourth day's play of the fifth and final Test against England in Chennai.

His unbeaten 303 helped India gained a first innings lead of 282-run lead. The moment Nair reached his triple hundred, India captain Virat Kohli declared the innings, giving his bowlers five overs to have an all-out go at England batsmen.

Worried about the impending situation, and of course flattened by the Nair's brilliance, England captain Alastair Cook sheepishly ignored eye-contact with the Indian batsman and hurried off the field, even as Kohli & Co. applauded their newest hero.

England survived the five overs' play with Cook and Keaton Jennings batting at three and nine respectively when the bails were removed to signal the end of penultimate day's play.
