New Delhi: England all-rounder received his second reprimand from the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the last month, giving him two demerit points and halfway to being banned for a Test match or two One-Day Internationals.
Stokes, who had a run-in with India captain Virat Kohli on the first day of the third Test at Mohali, admitted to a Level One offence.
According to ICC, Stokes was found to have used "language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting", in breach of Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

He was stumped for 29 during the afternoon session, and reacted to the India players celebration. He exchanged words with Kohli, and it's reported that the English player's comments were heard by the on-field umpires.
He charged by the umpiring team of Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney and Kumar Dharmasena. But there will be no formal hearing as Stokes has accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
Last month, Stokes was fined 15% of his match fee and given a demerit point for "verbally engaging" with Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman in Dhaka.
According to the new rules, if a player reaches four demerit points within a two-year period, he faces suspension for one Test or two limited-overs internationals.
