Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar settle debate over who is more 'special' in epic Twitter exchange!

New Delhi: Virat Kohli's superlative batting displays in the ongoing ICC World Cup has led to experts comparing him to Sachin Tendulkar.

While some believe Kohli is already better than the master blaster, other feel there is still time before a serious parallel can be drawn between the two.

The 27-year-old has so far played two match-winning knocks in the tournament. He was cheered on by Sachin from the Eden Gardens' stands during his unbeaten fifty against Pakistan.

On Sunday Tendulkar wasn't present in Mohali, but took to social micro-blogging site Twitter to appreciate Kohli's effort against the Aussies.

Terming the knock as special, the former India skipper lauded the right-hander's fighting spirit.

Virat's response to his idol was truly heart-warming.

Interestingly, both batsmen will remember March 27 fondly for the rest of their lives.

It was on this date in 1994 that Tendulkar opened for India for the first time. He went on to score 82 off 49 balls with 15 fours and 2 sixes.

Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 off 51 balls, with 9 fours and two sixes against Steve Smith's side in Mohali.

While fans continue to debate as to who is the greater batsman between the two, Tendulkar's reply to Kohli summed it up rather beautifully.

As they say, a master will always remain the master.
