New Delhi: Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh didn't get a solitary game in the recently concluded Twenty20 series against Australia.

The player is considered as the back up option behind the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Harbhajan has been included in the squad for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka which will be more of an ideal preparation ahead of the Asia Cup and ICC World T20.

With the Indian squad going to be selected by the BCCI on Friday for the Asia Cup and ICC World T20, Harbhajan will likely get the nod for the important tourneys.

The 'Turbanator' had represented India last in the T20 and ODI series against South Africa back in 2015 and is yet to feature in the starting XI since then.

With his immense experience in sub-continent conditions and his impact in the IPL, Harbhajan needs to get his confidence back ahead of the World Cup. This can only happen if he gets match time against Sri Lanka. With India playing three T20I against the Lankans, Harbhajan will hope he gets some vital time on the field and show his skills.

Harbhajan is the perfect back-up for Mahendra Singh Dhoni and having his confidence high will also be the key for the skipper to look at.
