New Delhi: There is a good new for cricket lovers as the high-profile match between India and Pakistan will be held as scheduled in Dharamsala, said the ICC World T20 Director M V Sridhar on Tuesday.

After a meeting with Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Home Ministry M K Singla besides others, Sridhar said: "The match is on. The state and central governments are onboard and all security arrangements have been made."

Earlier in the morning, PCB security team that inspected the venue also gave a clean chit to the security arrangements.

"The PCB delegations visited Dharamsala yesterday. There they have seen the entire premises. They have engaged with us (BCCI) and the tournament officials and the local officials of the HPCA (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) also. After that, we have had the conversation with the district administrative officials, which includes the District Commissioner and the Inspector General of Police. We have met all of them and they have given their feedback,"Sridhar told the media.

Indo-Pak match, which is possibly the biggest game of the tournament, had been under scrutiny since Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh said he opposed the BCCI's decision to stage it in his state.

While BCCI had assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of complete security to their player, but several groups had threatened to disrupt this encounter.

Match is scheduled to take place on March 19.

Besides the Dharamsala match, Pakistan team will play two matches in Mohali, Punjab -- against New Zealand on March 22 and against Australia on March 25.
