New Delhi: On Wednesday, England, Pakistan and South Africa also announced their respective squads for next months ICC World Twenty20. Teams have opted to bring in a host of unheralded players for the March-April competition to be held in India.

A total of 16 teams, including all the 10 Test playing nations and another six qualified Associate Members will compete in the tournament.

Two top teams from each group in Super 10 will qualify for the semi-finals. In the Group 1, defending champions Sri Lanka will have the company of South Africa, the West Indies, England and Group B Winner.

In the Group B, hosts India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia and Group A Winner will fight it out for the two available spots.

The tournament proper will start once the preliminary group round matches are over, which will decide which of teams advance to the Super 10.

The top eight teams in the ICC rankings automatically progress to the Super 10 stage.

Bangladesh, the Netherlands, Ireland and Oman are in Group A; while Scotland, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Hong Kong are in the Group B.

The final will be played on April 3 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
