ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier: Oman vs Netherlands – As it happened...

The Netherlands cricket team became the first casualty of the 2016 World Twenty20 after its second qualifying match against Oman was washed out on Friday.

Persistent rain at Dharamsala forced the match at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium to abandon without a ball being bowled.

Netherlands had lost their opening Group A game to Bangladesh.

Oman won the toss and put the Netherlands in to bat, but no play was possible in the first game of the day.

In the 7th qualifier of the ICC World Twenty20, Oman face Netherlands in an exciting battle at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala.

TOSS: Oman won the toss and elected to field first.

It has been raining in Dharamsala and there will be delay in the start.

PREVIEW: Oman and Netherlands will take on each other in an intense battle in the ICC World Twenty20 qualifiying first round Group A encounter on Friday.

Oman surprised and shocked Ireland to win their opening qualifying match, and will look to continue with that positive factor on Friday. Oman will expect to face a tricky test against Netherlands.

The Orange will have to claim a victory in order to stay alive for qualification. They bowled well against Bangladesh in the opening game but fell short while chasing. This time they will have to address that against a spirited Oman attack.

Oman will rely on their front three batsmen to continue with providing a solid start and platform upfront. The onus of Amir Ali down the order is of a big substance.

The game promises plenty of fireworks in Himalaya's own lap.

Netherlands almost pipped Bangladesh and despite the loss, their performance was a notable effort. This encounter is of high substance for both sides
