New Delhi: Virat Kohli has earned himself several admirers in the last few years with his run-scoring ability across formats.
After playing yet another match-winning knock in the 2016 edition of the ICC World Twenty20, the cricketing world was unanimous in its praise for the stylish batsman.
One opinion, that of Brian Lara, stood out in particular amid the widespread adulation of Kohli.
The legendary left-hander, celebrated for his ability to pick up gaps and time the ball, hailed Virat as the best timer of a cricket ball he has seen.
That's not it. Lara was so impressed by Kohli that he requested his followers to send him video links of Kohli batting as a teenager.

Lara and Tendulkar are often regarded as the two greatest batsmen to have played the game.
At Eden Gardens against Pakistan, it was Tendulkar giving the thumbs up to Kohli.
Now at Mohali, the 27-year-old got the approval of Lara. It's not often that legends of the game are awestruck by batting displays, especially in T20 cricket.
However after the Mohali masterclass, it would be fair to say cricket has entered the Virat Kohli era.
