Yet another over with boundaries as starters. Joe Root hit Chris Morris for three back-to-back boundaries -- first off a straighter delivery which was flicked, then behind the square and a lucky knick behind the wicket.
And even the best of deliveries went for runs. The last ball seemed to have trapped Moeen Ali for a LBW, but it deflected for a four. Faintest of nicks.

Joe Root just played a disdainfully confident, impoverished shot to reach his fifty. After three singles of the first three balls, a premeditated Root waited to reverse sweep Chris Morris for his third six of the innings.

Needing 70 more runs from 42 deliveries, England started with a 2 of the first ball of the 14th over. And with that, Joe Root and Jos Buttler have stitched a 50-run partnership in just 23 balls.

Dale Steyn, who was taken off after his first over, returned. But he continued to leak runs.

And despite the early onslaught against their pace bowlers, Proteas have slowly taken the initiative from the Poms.

Then four, four, four to start Dale Steyn's first over. Valiant and classy at the same time for Alex Hales. It was a different matter that Hales was dropped of the first ball, at short fine leg.
After a single. Roy returned to hit the day-light off Steyn's bowling. A lofted four through the mid-on, followed up by six. Hooked with some conviction.

Great start to the run chase for England with Jason Roy hitting Kagiso Rabada's first over for 21 runs, including four fours.
The over also witnessed Quinton de Kock failing to take a bouncer, which resulted in five wides.

Over 20 || Score 229/4 (Duminy 54; Miller 28)
Jean-Paul Duminy reached to his fifty with a six over the mid-off boundary. He took 26 deliveries to reach it.
The last over of the innings resulted in 18 runs with David Miller finishing with a flurry of shots, a six and a four to be precise.
Over 19 || Score 211/4 (Duminy 47; Miller 17)
Clean hitting from Jean-Paul Duminy. The left-handed batsman of robust build started the penultimate over with back-to-back sixes.
Reece Topley, however, did well to concede two singles in the next two deliveries. Then some sloppy fielding meant a single was converted to a three. The over ended with a single. 18 runs from the over. And South Africa crossed 200-run mark.

Second tier for David Miller, through the mid-on route. That happened in the fourth ball of David Willey's fourth and final over.
The over started with three singles, then ended with a single. Good over for England. But still leaked 11 runs.

Chris Jordan finally returned to the attack. And this time, he conceded only nine runs. Huge improvement from the first over, which leaked 22 runs.
David Miller got his first four, with a glance. That happened in the second ball of the over. There were five singles too.

Good over for England. A wicket and seven runs.
David Willey was somewhat lucky to get the wicket of Faf du Plessis. It was full toss delivery, asking to be hit. But the South African skipper could found only Jason Roy waiting at deep mid-wicket. That was of the third delivery of the over.

Another busy over. Ben Stokes started with a single to JP Duminy. The South African skipper Faf du Plessis than played a dilscoop for a four. It was followed by two byes with Jos Buttler making a mess of his collection behind the wickets.
A single then, Duminy flicked a full toss delivery for the second boundary of the over.
14 runs from it.

South Africa got the first boundary of four overs, thanks to JP Duminy, in the fourth delivery of the 14th over. The left-handed batsman followed it up with another four to make it a productive over.

Boundaries have dried up and another good over for the fielding team. Adil Rashid also completed his four overs bowling duty. Impressive, considering the context of the match. Five runs from it. His figures: 4-0-35-1.

Another brilliant over for England with Moeen Ali getting another wicket for the team. He removed Hashim Amla, LBW, in the penultimate ball of the over.

In the last two overs, South Africa have added 14 runs. Certainly a quiet period of play, with Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis 'rebuilding' the innings.
In the 10th over, Moeen Ali conceded 11 runs, with Amla hitting a six of the last ball. And with that Amla also reached his fifty. Then, Adil Rashid bowled a superb over, leaking only three singles.

What a whirlwind over. It has everything a T20 fan wants from cricket.
Adil Rashid continued and AB de Villiers started the over with a double. No run then. Then, two successive sixes from AB.
After a dot ball, Rashid got the prized wicket of AB. Skipper Eoin Morgan took the catch at the edge of the circle on the off.

England finally found the much needed breakthrough, thanks to a Moeen Ali strike. The off-break bowler got Quinton de Kock's wicket. Good catch at deep mid-wicket by Alex Hales.

Another big over. Adil Rashid conceded 13 runs. Quinton de Kock started the over with a four, then after three singles, Hashim Amla hit his second six.
In between, de Kock reached his fifty.

For the first time, Hashim Amla played missed the line of the delivery, which cut back after pitching outside of the off stump. The, he played another a shiot of supreme confidence, coming to the pitch of the delivery and playing it through the overs.
Earlier, Quinton de Kock started the over with a single.
de Kock ended the over with a single, but not before getting his sixth four of the match.

More pain for England. A rather reticent Hashim Alma has shown a liking of this England bowling attack with some outrageously classy shots.
Chris Jordan, who had a decent spell against the West Indies on Wednesday, was taken to the cleaners. The scoring sequence - 4,4,4,6,4,0. Somehow the last delivery resulted in a dot ball, and England even got themselves into the act, asking for a catch at short third man. But it turned out to a bump ball.
22 runs from it.
Over 4 || Score 50/0 (Amla 10; de Kock 40)
After Quinton de Kock brutality, came Hashim Amla's silken touch. The veteran opener played two exquisite cover drives. But he was given a life, with Reece Topley dropping a straight forward catch at the mid-off.
de Kock then played a late cut, resulting in yet another four.
Thus Moeen Ali conceded 13 runs in his first over.

Huge over!
Quinton de Kock played two dot balls before launching his second six of the match, which was followed by another four through mid-on. Then, another four through the covers.
The over ended with a huge six, into the stands. 20 runs from it.
Over 2 || Score 17/0 (Amla 1; de Kock 16)
Then, suddenly, Quinton de Kock got into the T20 mood, launching the first delivery of Reece Topley's spell for a six, over the point fence.
After a dot ball, the South African opener hit the first boundary of the match, lofting in the same area, with the ball trickling over the rope. The left-handed batsman followed it up with another four.
But Topley had a good shout, off the last ball of the over, for a LBW against Hashim Amla. Ball seemed to have pitch just outside the line.

Hashim Alma faced the first ball, which he played gently towards the cover. No run. He then stole a single off the leg. After that Quinton de Kock played out three dot balls. He then took a single off the last delivery.
Good start from left-arm pace bowler David Willey for England. Two singles from the over.
South Africa, having won seven of the ten matches played against England, will start as the favourites. But England are in a much win situation. Expect fireworks!

Bruised and battered by the Chris Gayle mauling, England are faced with a must-win situation as they look ways to contain South Africa in their ICC World Twenty20 match today.
Shell-shocked by Gayle's record 47-ball century, England are required to win against the Proteas, to whom they lost 0-2 in the tune-up to the tournament, if they are to progress to the semi finals from Group 1.
The 2010 champions' under-fire bowlers and fielders will be up against a strong rival batting line-up comprising the innovative A B de Villiers holder of the world's fastest 50, 100 and 150 in ODIs, big-hitting David Miller and the solidity of captain Faf du Plessis, Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock and J P Duminy.
The key, perhaps, would be how effectively England's spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali can perform after being sent to the cleaners by the big-swinging bat of Gayle who struck successive sixes into the top tiers of the Wankhede stadium off both these slow bowlers.
