New Delhi: Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) boss Sourav Ganguly has extended an invitation to former Pakistan captain Imran Khan to watch the March 19 ICC World Twenty20 match.

According to a ARY News report, the legendary Pakistani all-rounder had expressed his desire to travel to India for the high-profile match if the venue was shifted from Dharamsala to Kolkata.

Imran is scheduled to leave for India on March 18 and is expected to be present at the Eden Gardens.

Imran had earlier voiced an opinion in favour of not playing in Dharamsala after security-related comments from Virbhadra Singh, the CM of Himachal Pradesh.

The West Bengal government has assured full proof security for the Indo-Pak match and all co-operation to Ganguly's CAB.

Earlier, Shahid Afridi revealed that Imran and Wasim Akram had agreed to motivate his team ahead of their WT20 opener.
