New Delhi: The second semi-final of the sixth edition of ICC World Twenty20 is between India and West Indies, which is scheduled to take place at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

India, though, are favourites to win the game, considering the fact that most of the West Indian cricketers are quite familiar with the conditions due to their participation in Indian Premier League, it's not going to be a easy match for the hosts.

Spinners are expected to play a crucial role in the match.

Indian spinners have done a fabulous job in the tourney thus far, but when it comes to their batting line-up, barring Virat Kohli, other batsmen have failed to inspire confidence.

As far West Indies team is concerned, they rely heavily on their all-rounders like skipper Darren Sammy, Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell.

But a lot depends on the performance of their all-rounder Chris Gayle as well, who can change the course of the match single-handedly.

One thing is sure that the 2nd semi-final is expected to be a fierce competition between the two heavy weights of the shortest format.

Possible playing XI:

India (from): Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, Ashish Nehra, Hardik Pandya, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma.

West Indies (from): Darren Sammy (captain), Samuel Badree, Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo, Johnson Charles, Lendl Simmons, Chris Gayle, Denesh Ramdin, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor.
