I didn’t have too many expectations from IPL auction: Mustafizur Rahman

New Delhi: New Bangladesh bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman has been hogging the lime light since he made his ODI debut against India in June 2015.

The left-arm seamer's acute angles and ability to pick wickets at regular intervals, made him the 2nd player from Bangladesh, after star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, to be picked by an Indian Premier League franchise on Saturday.

However, even after being grabbed by IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), he disclosed that he wasn’t really desperate to play in the cash-rich league.

“I wasn’t really desperate for an IPL contract. Honestly, I didn’t have too many expectations. But since I had done well against India, I thought there could be people who would be interested in me.” Rahman told Times of India.

However, the 20-year-old seamer feels that playing the League would certainly be a good exposure.

“I understand that people in my country have big expectations from me. IPL will be a good exposure from me. I have learnt a few things in my first year of international cricket. It will be a good place to test my skills. It will be a good experience playing in front of Indian crowds now and with some of the best players in the world.”
