Harbhajan Singh: Off-spinner will look to grab opportunity with both hands against Aussies

New Delhi: Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh who has been chosen in the 15-man T20 squad for the upcoming tour of Australia will look to grab opportunity with both hands.

The senior player was a part of India T20 team against South Africa recently and maintains his position in the squad. With the ICC T20 World Cup starting in March 2016 at home, Harbhajan's pedigree and experience could help India in a big manner.

After the series against Australia, India will play Sri Lanka and the T20 Asia Cup as it will be a perfect manner for skipper MS Dhoni to know what his bowlers can offer.

Harbhajan missed out on the ODI squad despite having played against the Proteas after Ashwin had picked up an injury. With selectors focusing on experience and youth alike, Harbhajan knows a good outing against Australia will be beneficial to his cause.

Harbhajan will hope he gets a chance against Australia given the presence of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja too in the squad. The three-match T20 series has veterans Ashish Nehra and Yuvraj Singh as well keeping the World Cup in mind.

Harbhajan's good show in the Ranji Trophy and the Indian Premier League saw his return to the Indian team this year against Bangladesh in an one-off Test match series. After an ordinary outing against Sri Lanka, Harbhajan found himself out of the Test squad.

In ODIs too, Axar Patel finds himself ahead of Harbhajan in the Indian side. The Punjab spinner knows T20s could be a good platform for him to make his way back into the scheme of things in other formats as well.
