 Former India pacer Karsan Ghavri suffers heart attack

New Delhi: Former India cricketer Karsan Ghavri on Sunday suffered a heart attack early morning.

According to media reports, Ghavri underwent angioplasty at a local hospital and is now stable.

The former Mumbai left-arm pacer will however remain under observation for some time. 

"Yes, Mr Ghavri suffered a heart attack earlier this morning. He was rushed to a local hospital. He has undergone angioplasty today and the doctors said that his condition is stable," said Mumbai Cricket Association joint secretary Dr PV Shetty.

The 65-year-old, who is coach of West Zone Under-19 team, had an angiogram performed in the hospital after complaining of chest pain.

Ghavri played 39 Test matches and 19 ODIs for India. He has 109 Test and 452 first-class wickets.
