Collingwood says T20 loss won’t hurt England’s momentum

Melbourne: England Twenty20 captain Paul Collingwood insists that his team’s momentum remains strong heading into the seven-match ODI series against Australia.

Australia has gained a much-needed boost in confidence ahead of the series by winning the second Twenty20 match on Friday.

While disappointed with the four run loss, Collingwood wasn’t concerned about Australia having their tails up for the ODI series.

“We would have loved to have won again. I don’t think it has hurt our momentum too much,” the Age quoted Collingwood, as saying.

“Andrew Strauss takes over the reins again and we’re all looking forward to the one-day series. It’s a big series for us going into the World Cup,” he added.

The first match of the series will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.
