CLT20 ticket sales to begin soon

Kolkata: The organisers of the Champions League Twenty20 are planning to sell tickets at throwaway prices for the six matches slated to be held at Eden Gardens.

There is another bonanza in offer for the spectators who will get to see two matches in price of one ticket on the day two fixtures are scheduled at the Eden.

Satisfied after their inspection of the stadium this morning, a two-member team led by CLT20 technical committee member and IPL chief executive Sundar Raman said their main objective was to get fullhouse on all the four match days.

"They are thinking of introducing gallery tickets at prices of Rs 300 (upper tier) and Rs 500 (lower). But it`s yet to be finalised. They want the stadium to be full on all the days," said chairman of CAB stadium committee Chitrak Mitra, who accompanied the team.

"But the ticket prices of club house and VIP boxes are yet to be discussed."

Mitra further said the rest of the rules remains the same as that of IPL.

"As like franchises in IPL, in CLT20 also the teams would get 80 per cent quota of the seats. All terms and conditions are the same. They were fully satisfied with the inspection."

CAB joint-secretary Biswarup Dey said there would not be separate tickets on the day two matches are scheduled.

"Thus a spectator will get to see two matches for the price of one," Dey said.

The Eden is scheduled to host two back to back matches on September 25 and October 1, while on September 27 and 29 there will be one match each.

After qualifying in Hyderabad (September 19-21), Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore will host the 10-team tournament from September 23-October 9.
