BCCI asks Modi to reconsider IPL expansion plan: Reports

Zeecric Bureau

Mumbai: It seems that Lalit Modi’s plan for expanding IPL 2010 won’t be successful as BCCI has asked Modi to reconsider his decision, considering the amount of injury Indian players are suffering due to an overdose of cricket.

Initially, it was proposed by IPL authorities to increase the number of teams from eight to ten and the number of matches from 59 to 94. But BCCI, led by a strong anti-Modi group, expressed concerns over the fatigue factors.

This section believes that more teams in IPL means more matches which ultimately results in more injuries to the players.

But Lalit Modi has denied report that his expansion plans have been put on hold by the BCCI.
