Bangladesh's maiden India tour likely to be postponed to 2017: Reports

New Delhi: Bangladesh cricket fans could be in for a major disappointment as their team's proposed tour to India is likely to be postponed.

According to several media reports. dates for Tigers' maiden India tour in August could be pushed early next year.

Bangladesh were scheduled to play a one-off Test against the hosts at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now in touch with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to plan a series in 2017.

“Both the countries are trying hard to fix a possible date for the series after going through our other commitments,” BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters on Saturday.

“We all know how busy India team remains while we are also not free all the time. It can happen as per schedule while it can also be changed,” he further added.

The final decision however on the matter will be reached by the two board at the June 28th ICC meeting.
