New Delhi: The microphone controversy doesn't seem to die as after Australian opener David Warner, Steve Smith also criticised the way Virat Kohli gave him a send-off during the first T20I at the Adelaide.
The controversy started when Virat Kohli made a "chatterbox" gesture for Smith after taking his simple catch at mid-off Ravindra Jadeja – as the batsman was involved in a live chat during the game.
But the dismissal triggered an Australian collapse as India eventually won the match by 37 runs.
However, the gesture by Kohli didn't go down well with Smith, who told Fox Sports: "He (Kohli) gets pretty emotional out there, doesn't he? I don't think you need to do that kind of thing when someone gets out.
"It's fine to have a little bit of banter when you're out in the field, but when someone is out I don't think that's really on," added Australia's Test and ODI captain.
However, Smith played down his multi-tasking and indicated that it had nothing to do with the dismissal "It (the commentary was on at the time, but for me it was just a bad shot. I tried to chip one over the top for two rather than trying to hit him for four or six. It was my fault and I got to do better next time," said Smith.
Earlier, in the on-going tour, Indian Test skipper Kohli had also got involved in sledging incident with all-rounder James Faulkner during the fifth ODI.
