New Delhi: On the back of a stellar performance in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia, star batsman Rohit Sharma surged into the top five of the ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsmen.

The world champions and number-one ranked side led by Steve Smith beat India 4-1, but the stylish right-hander accumulated 441 runs in the five matches with two centuries and a fifty (99).
Rohit, adjudged man of the series, has now become India’s second highest-ranked batsman behind Virat Kohli (second).
The Mumbai batsman is now 64 points behind India's ODI vice-captain.
ODI skipper MS Dhoni slipped seven places to 13th position in the latest rankings.
AB de Villiers of South Africa maintained his number one rank.
