New Delhi: Australia claimed bragging rights after winning the second ODI at the Gabba and take a 2-0 lead in the series. In both matches Australia's bowlers did well to come back in the end and not allow India to get to a much bigger score.

India looked well to go past 350 but the Aussies did superbly well to put a hold to the Indian innings in the end as the visitors kept losing wickets despite the emphatic batting by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane at the beginning.

Smith stated that the side did well to restrict India to 308 runs after they were looking good for at least 350.

"Yeah, it was good tonight, I think we did well to restrict them to 308. They were looking good for 350.”

He went on to add that his side started the chase brilliantly with both Shaun Marsh and Aaron Finch not panicking.

"The way we started was brilliant. Marsh and Finch didn't panic and allowed us to play freely at the end. The bowlers did well in the last game, they pulled India back at the back end today too," Smith said.

The skipper also praised George Bailey who scored a brilliant 76* after a ton in the first ODI.

Meanwhile, India's premier batsman Rohit Sharma was disappointed with the outcome of the match.

"It's always disappointing. At the end of the day, no matter how much you score it's the result that matters," Sharma said.

Asked about playing in Australian conditions, he said, "I love playing here. The wickets are good, you always get value for your shots and that's what I want to do. Once I'm in, I feel good enough to score big. Overall I am pleased with my form, but disappointing not to win. Looking forward to Melbourne now."

India play their third ODI in Melbourne and need to win the game to stay alive in the five-match series.
