Mirpur: Bangladesh T20I skipper Mashrafe Mortaza played a key role in ousting Pakistan from Asia Cup 2016 as he promoted himself in the batting order and played some big strokes.
Mortaza came to bat ahead of Mohammad Mithun and struck two crucial boundaries against Pakistan's best bowler Mohammad Amir.
Reacting to those two valuable shots, Mortaza said, "I was a bit lucky that I connected both. You can say in my T20 international career, the two most important boundaries that I have struck."
Mortaza came to bat in the 18th over of the innings after Amir bowled Shakib Al Hasan for 8. While Amir was dictating terms, an unperturbed Mortaza hit two boundaries off the first two balls he faced from him.
Mortaza gave good company to Mahmudullah and the duo stitched unbeaten 27-run match-winning stand for the sixth wicket to take their side to another Asia Cup final.
