New Delhi: India's limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who suffered a muscle spasm during training on Monday, is said to be recovering well ahead of team's Asia Cup 2016 opener.

In an injury scare, the 34-year-old suffered spasm while training, soon after which Parthiv Patel was called up as cover for him.

But according to the BCCI, Dhoni was recovering well.

"He (Dhoni) has been recovering well but we will assess his fitness ahead of the match tomorrow," Team India manager Nishant Arora was quoted as saying by Indiatoday.in.

Meanwhile, Dohli's deputy Virat Kohli said in the former's absence, India will have to rework on their batting line up as Dhoni is a finisher while Patel mostly opens the innings.

"MS is a pillar for us in the middle-order. If Parthiv comes in, we will have to make plans for the batting order," Kohli said.
