New Delhi: Veteran batsman Anjum Chopra will lead the Indian women`s cricket team in the limited overs series against Australia, starting March 12 in Ahmedabad.
Mithali Raj has been named as Anjum`s deputy for the series.
According to a BCCI statement, the All-India Women`s Selection Committee picked up the 15-member squad after a meeting at the Cricket Centre in Mumbai on February 29.
During the home series, India will play three ODIs and five Twenty20 matches against the Australian women`s team.
After the opening ODI in Ahmedabad, the action will shift to Mumbai, which will host the remaining two games of the 50-over format on March 14 and 16.
All the Twenty20 matches of the series will be played in Visakhapatnam from March 18 to 23.
