Alastair Cook disappointed over Hashim Amla's resignation as Test skipper

New Delhi: A concerned England captain Alastair Cook has expressed his disappointment over the resignation of rival South African skipper Hashim Amla.

Cook, who considers captaincy as a huge honour, described Amla as a `nice` personality and said that the outgoing skipper would have his reasons to resign from the post, reported Sport24.

The 31-year-old also admitted that huge pressure is associated with the job.

In a shocking decision, Amla on Wednesday resigned from is post shortly after end the 2nd Test against England, at Newlands, which concluded in a draw.

Amla’s leadership and his indifferent form came under the scrutiny after the Proteas lost the India series 0-3 and then the first match at home, against England.

However, Amla did addressed his form concerns with a double century (201) at Newlands but at last he decided to resign from the captaincy.

This was Amla’s sixth series as South African skipper after he took over the captaincy from Graeme Smith in mid-2014.
