New Delhi: Team India's batsman Ajinkya Rahane on Monday donated Rs 5 lakhs to help the Maharashtra government in their bid to address the agrarian crisis in the state.

Maharashtra has witnessed several farmer suicides of late, which is why Rahane met CM Devendra Fadnavis to offer a helping hand.

Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan is a government program to help make Maharashtra a drought-free state by 2019.

This gesture from Rahane is indeed a noble one and the right-hander needs to be applauded for coming forward to help those in distress.
