Asian Games, Day 12: As it happened...

At the end of Day 12 of the Asian Games 2014 at Incheon, India managed to touch the fifty medal mark. Today India won one Gold, one Silver and 2 Bronze medals. Boxer Mary Kom gave India their only gold medal of the day. India are placed at 11th spot with seven gold medals under their belt. Meanwhile, China have maintained a healthy overall lead in the medal tally, with the help of 131 gold medals, whereas, S Korea and Japan are on second and third spots respectively.  

18:10 IST: So it's end of Day 12, at least for Indian athletes at Incheon. In the entire day Indian managed to bag 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals and take their overall medal tally to fifty. 

17:50 IST: ATHLETICS: Annu Rani's of India marks 59.53m to win a bronze medal in women's Javelin Throw. It's also her personal best and now a new national record as well. And with that India have completed a half-century of medals. 

17:20 IST: ATHLETICS: China's Zhang Li won Gold in Javelin and also creating new GR with her 65.47m throw.

16:57 IST: ATHLETICS: Ashwini Akkunji finished fourth in women's 400m Hurdles.

16:50 IST: CORRECTION: Sajeesh elevated to 4th after four runners were disqualified for contact with other runners and pushing.

16:05 IST: ATHLETICS - However, in men's 800 m, Sajeesh Joseph could only finish 7th.

15:45 IST: ATHLETICS - Tintu Lukka won silver in women's 800 m, but Devi Sushma missed out on a podium finish. Sushma was fourth.

14:21 IST: HOCKEY - Bronze medal for women's hockey team. Indian eves beat Japan 2-1 in the play-off.

14:00 IST: HOCKEY - Indian eves continued their impressive form against Japan. At the end of third quarter, India are leading 2-1.

13:30 IST:  HOCKEY -  In the bronze medal playoff, India lead Japan by a solitary goal in the second quarter. Jaspreet Kaur with the goal!!

12:05 IST: TABLE TENNIS - Patkar-Aggarwal also lost their match, to Zhu-Cheng of China in the women's doubles Rd of 16 and crash out of the draw.

12:56 IST: TABLE TENNIS - Indian pair of Das-Ghatak lost their Rd of 16 match to Yang-Park of S Korea and crash out of the draw.

12:33 IST: BOXING - During the victory ceremony of women's boxing light-weight category, an inconsolable Laishram Sarita hugged South Korea's Jina Park. And it's reported that Sarita left her medal on the podium after the ceremony.

12:05 IST: TABLE TENNIS - Sharath Kamal crashed out of the men's singles event after losing 3-4 to Padasak of Thailand in the Rd of 32.

12:00 IST: TAEKWONDO - Nakul Malhotra lost his quarter-final bout to Elias Hedari in the Men's 87 kg category.

11:44 IST: BOXING - Mary Kom beats Zhaina Shekerbekova of Kazakhstan in women's fly-weight category final to win her first Asiad gold medal.

11:24 IST: GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING - ​​Manoj Kumar lost to Pen Fei of China in men's 85 kg category.

11:15 IST: GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING - ​In men's 75 kg, Gurpreet Singh lost in the quarter final to Payam Bouyeri of Iran.

10:40 IST: VOLLEYBALL - India go down to defending champions Japan 25-20 19-25 25-23 20-25 13-15 in the men's quarter final.

10:27 IST: GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING - Dharmendar Dalal lost to Bashir Darzi of Iran in men's 130 kg pre-quarters.

10:25 IST: GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING - In men's 66 kg category, Sandeep Yadav lost to Khusrav Obloberdiev of Tajikistan in the pre-quarters.

10:20 IST: GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING - ​Gupreet Singh won his pre-quarter final bout against Sharif Badr of Qatar in men's 75 kg category.

10:16 IST: VOLLEYBALL - Once again, Japan responded in emphatic fashion, winning the fourth set 25-20. It's leveled at 2-2.

09:50 IST: VOLLEYBALL - India survived a thriller in the third set to lead the match 2-1. Won it 25-23. One more set for India to book a semi-final spot.

09:20 IST: VOLLEYBALL - Japan responded strongly, wrest the second set 25-19 to level the match at one set each.

09:05 IST: CANOE KAYAK OBSTACLE SLALOM - In Men's Single Kayak, Kuldeep Singh Keer failed to register a time in the heat.

09:00 IST: TAEKWONDO - Aarti Khakal, in women's 57kg (round of 32) and Rajan Pandia Anand, in men's 80kg (round of 16) lost their bouts early today.

08:57 IST: ATHLETICS - Sandeep, Rana finish fourth, fifth in men's 50km race walk.

08:55 IST: VOLLEYBALL - India lead favourites Japan in men's quarter-final match, winning the first set 25-21.

After a day controversies surrounding the exits of Laishram siblings from the men's and women's boxing competition, India will hope to set the record straight by winning medals. And who better than Mary Kom to make it happen. The Indian legend will fight her gold medal bout in women's flyweight event.
