An intense cold wave continued to sweep the hills of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

Shimla: An intense cold wave continued to sweep the hills of Himachal Pradesh even as the local MeT office predicted rains or snow in mid and lower hills over the next 48 hours.

The state capital Shimla and surrounding areas had a cloudy day on Tuesday and strong icy winds swept the region.

Una was the hottest in the region with a high of 25. 2 degrees Celsius while Solan and Sundernagar recorded maximum temperatures of 19.2 degrees and 19.1 degrees, followed by Nahan 18.6 degrees, Bhuntar 18 degrees, Shimla and Dharamsala? 15.4 degrees and, Kalpa 13.

The mercury hovered around the freezing point at many places and Keylong was coldest during the night with a low of minus 2.6 degrees while Manali and Bhuntar shivered at 0.4 degrees and 1. 5 degrees Celsius.
