Kareena Kapoor Khan won’t do South Indian films – Here’s why

Mumbai: Regional films are doing exceptionally not just in India but at the global Box Office too! Actors from Bollywood and regional cinema have been exploring newer spheres. And it is likely that we will see regional superstars in Bollywood and vice versa. But Kareena Kapoor Khan may not explore South Indian cinema.

Here’s why!

During an event, when Kareena was asked if she would work in the South Indian film industry, the actress said, “I truly respect all south films they have great content, I respect and admire them. There are great actors from Pawan, Rajinikanth sir to Mammooty sir. There is so much great work being done in Telugu or Malayalam films. I don't understand the language and so I feel the connection will not be there. That's the only problem.”

She added, “Having said that one of the best films in my career was with a great director from south, Mani Ratnam. I got the opportunity to work with him and it's great.”

In the recent past, we have seen a number of actresses from Bollywood in South Indian films. Radhika Apte and Sonakshi Sinha were romantically paired opposite Rajinikanth in ‘Kabali’ and ‘Lingaa’ respectively. And very soon, we will get to see Akshay Kumar making his Tamil debut with the megastar’s sequel to ‘Enthiran’ – ‘2.0’.
