Over 50 booked for creating ruckus at govt offices in Rajasthan

Over 50 persons were on Friday booked for allegedly creating ruckus while staging protest against overpriced electricity bill, at government's offices in Jameetpura village here, police said.

Bundi: Over 50 persons were on Friday booked for allegedly creating ruckus while staging protest against overpriced electricity bill, at government's offices in Jameetpura village here, police said.

All the protesters were booked at Talera police station here following there protest at Assistant Executive Engineer's office and Jaipur Vidutt Vitran Nigam (JVVNL), Talera police station SHO Pawan Kumar Meena said.

All the accused booked hail from Jameetpura village, he said.

According to the officer, the villagers alleged that they were handed over overpriced electric bills without prior reading of their electric metres after which they gathered at AEN office in Jameetoura and staged protest, leading to ruckus.

A case was lodged against them for creating ruckus at the offices, the officer said adding no arrests have been made so far.
