Municipal Corporation employee arrested for graft

Bikaner: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Rajasthan Police today arrested a contractual Municipal Corporation employee here for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.

The accused, Vinod Gupta, had sought the bribe on behalf of executive engineer Ramesh Meena for converting a contracting license grade of the complainant.

The "deal" was fixed at Rs 10,000 and Gupta had already taken Rs 8,000, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ACB) Rajneesh Punia said.

He said Gupta was today caught red-handed accepting the remaining amount.

The executive engineer fled the spot and switched off his mobile phone.

"We have registered a case and interrogating the contractual employee," the ASP said.
