'Stop Putin, Stop War': People across world protest against possible Russian invasion of Ukraine

Here's a look at some pictures showing how people across the world are protesting Vladimir Putin's decision to formally recognize two Russian-backed regions of eastern Ukraine and accelerate a potential war.

Several nations have started punishing Russia with new sanctions for ordering troops into separatist regions of eastern Ukraine and have also threatened to go further if President Vladimir Putin launches an all-out invasion of its neighbour.

The United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Japan have already announced plans to target banks and elites in one of the worst security crises in Europe in decades.

Putin, who is bitter about Kyiv's long-term goal to join NATO, has also amassed more than 1,50,000 troops near Ukraine's borders.
