New Delhi: The record rainstorm in China caused severe waterlogging in many cities including the capital Zhengzhou. The sudden downpour resulted in flooding which left the citizens trapped inside shopping malls, offices and even on underground subway trains.
As the severe weather spread northwards, tens of thousands of people were being evacuated from flood-hit regions of central China on Thursday as officials raised the death toll from heavy rains that have deluged Henan province for almost a week to 33 people.

Rescue workers are seen at an entrance to the flooded Shijingshan tunnel in Zhuhai. Rescuers have found the bodies of 10 more workers who were trapped in a flooded highway tunnel in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai last week, bringing the death toll to 13, state media reported late on Wednesday.
