New York Police said that the gunman was believed to have acted alone and immediately fled the crime scene.
New York Police have mounted an intense manhunt for a gunman who set off two smoke bombs and opened fire in a city's subway car on Tuesday (April 12, 2022). More than 20 people were injured in the morning rush-hour attack which unfolded as a Manhattan-bound subway train was pulling into an underground station in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood.
New York Police said that the gunman was believed to have acted alone and immediately fled the crime scene. They have also named a "person of interest" in the investigation as Frank James, who investigators believed had rented the U-Haul vehicle.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), the attack began in the train car as it was about to enter the station. The gunman wearing a gas mask set off a smoke bomb and opened fire. Police has identified a 'person of interest'
New York Police has named a "person of interest" in the investigation as Frank James.
