How did they start wearing yellow jersey?
In 1953, a competition was started for Brazil fans to submit their designs for the team to wear, because their current kit did not reveal "the vitality of the country'. A newspaper had launched the competititon. They asked fans to include Yellow, Green, Blue and White, the colours of the flag. In the end, the winner was a short which had canary yellow and hence the name 'Canarinha'. (Image source: Twitter)
