Former captain Virat Kohli became the fastest batter to complete 5,000 ODI runs at home, getting the landmark in 96 innings. Kohli also became the fourth batter in history to score 5000 ODI runs in a country. Sachin Tendulkar scored 6976 in India, Ricky Ponting 5521 in Australia, and Jacques Kallis 5186 in South Africa.
