IPL 2023: Suryakumar Yadav, Mumbai Indians Set New Records In Thumping Win Over RCB; In Pics

Virat Kohli had a poor outing on Tuesday night, scoring just 1 off 4 balls was dismissed in just the first over of the innings off Jason Behrendorff. 

Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell took RCB to 199 for 6 in 20 overs. Faf scored 65 while Maxwell blasted 68 to help visitors post a fighting total on the scoreboard.

Rohit fell cheaply again but Ishan Kishan carried on his good form and struck a quickfire 42 to take MI off to a flier in the chase of 200 vs RCB. 

Suryakumar Yadav came back to the reckoning for the Orange Cap as he smashed 83 off just 35 balls to win the game for his MI. In the process, he also completed 3,000 IPL runs. The 83-run knock is also his highest-ever score in IPL. Surya has entered the Orange Cap race with 376 runs in 11 matches.

MI have now pulled off most successful run chases over 200 runs in a single season. They have done it thrice in IPL 2023, leaving behind PBKS and CSK who did it twice in 2014 and 2018 respectively.

Mumbai Indians beat RCB by 21 balls in their return fixture of IPL 2023. This is the biggest win in a 200+ run-chase, in terms of delivery left.
