When MS Dhoni finished it off in style, take a look
On April 21, CSK's MS Dhoni showed that at the age of 40, he's still got it. Chennai Super Kings needed 17 runs off the last over (20th) and he managed to guide CSK home vs Mumbai Indians.
It was a vintage MSD show.
Here we bring you top five finishes from the same man in the same competition, just different years.
IPL 2010: CSK vs KXIP (MS Dhoni 54 off 29)
Chennai were chasing a heavy total of 193 runs to win in that game. However, it came right down to the wire when Chennai needed 16 off the final over. It was Irfan Pathan who was trusted with the ball at that moment but he failed infront of the Dharamsala crowd as MSD finished off in style with a maximum. (Image Source: Twitter)
IPL 2013: CSK vs SRH (67 OFF 37)
IPL 2014: CSK vs MI (22 off 12)
It was another electrifying contest between the two giant franchises Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. 11 runs were needed off the last over for a CSK win. It was young Kieron Pollard vs MSD in the final over and pressure was on MS as all the batters were removed by the likes of Lasith Malinga. However, MSD kept his cool and finished the game with a six and four later. (Image Source: Twitter)
IPL 2016: RPS vs KXIP (MS Dhoni 64 off 32)
Playing for the Rising Pune Supergiants, MSD smacked 64 runs off just 32 deliveries against the Kings XI Punjab. It was young Axar Patel infront of Dhoni, when the team needed 23 runs off the last over. Dhoni smashed Patel for 23 runs despite playing 2 dot balls in that over. (Image Source: Twitter)
IPL 2022: CSK vs MI (MS Dhoni 28 off 13)
Chennai Super Kings needed 17 runs off the last Mumbai over (20th). Batting at the age of 40, MS Dhoni showed no signs of aging infront of left-arm fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat. In the end, it was a boundary required off the last ball for CSK to win and MSD finished the game in style. (Image Source: Twitter)
