MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings provisionally rose to the top of the points table with their third victory in four games, with a narrow 18-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Batting first, CSK posted 220/3 and then managed to reduce KKR to 31/5 in the powerplay.
