Having slumped to defeats in their respective opening matches, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will look to seal their first win of the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup when they face each other in the second clash of the mega event at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday. Sri Lanka suffered a crushing 10-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand in their opening fixture at the same venue. Afghanistan, on the other hand, surrendered to a seven-wicket defeat against defending champions Australia in their opener.  

Gulbadin Naib-led Afghanistan won the toss and opted to field first in their second International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2019 clash against Dimuth Karunaratne's Sri Lanka at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday. Here are the Playing XI of the two sides for the match. 

A good start from Sri Lanka. Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne (30) and Kusal Perera (78) stitched a crucial 92-run stand for the opening wicket after being asked to bat first.

The Sri Lankan bowlers pulled back a great performance to reduce Afghanistan to 76/5 in 17 overs in their ICC World Cup 2019 clash. 

Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib falls for 23 after being caught leg before wicket off a Nuwan Pradeep delivery in the 25th over of his side's 187-run chase. 

Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by 34 runs via Duckworth-Lewis method to seal their first win of the ICC World Cup 2019.
