Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Imran Tahir emerged as the winner of the Purple Cup (highest wicket-taker) in the last edition of the Indian Premier League. The 41-year-old South African cricketer bagged a total of 26 wickets in 17 matches he played for the Chennai-based franchise in the 2019 IPL. His tally included two four-wicket hauls and had also contributed 431 runs with the bat at an average of 64.2 overs.
Tahir will look to replicate a similar kind of performance in the upcoming 13th edition of the IPL, which is slated to take place in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.

Australian pacer Andrew Tye finished as the Purple Cap winner in his maiden season with the Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL).The 33-year-old claimed a total of 24 wickets in 14 matches he played for the side at an economy rate of eight.
Despite Tye's memorable performance with the ball, the franchise failed to make it to the playoffs that season.
