PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Shivamogga Airport in Karnataka, Detailed Image Gallery: IN PICS

PM Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Shivmogga Airport, built at a cost of Rs 450 crore and will cater to the people of central Karnataka.

The airport’s operation will help in the region's growth in various sectors, like tourism, IT industry establishment and more. 

The Passenger Terminal Building of the airport can handle 300 passengers per hour and will serve as a gateway of Malnad region.

Recently, the Shivamogga airport’s landing strip was tested by the Indian Air Force with a successful landing attempt with a passenger jet.

Member of Parliament - B Y Raghvendra, said the new Shivamogga Airport will create lakhs of employment opportunities for the youth.

He added that industries especially IT, tourism, dairy will significantly be benefitted as this aspirational project has been realised in a record time.

The Shivamogga Airport has been built with latest design and is the 9th airport in Karnataka.
