This is how Delhi is preparing for tomorrow's COVID-19 vaccination drive, check pics

Nearly 30 crore doses are planned for the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination in New Delhi. On Tuesday, the first consignment of COVID-19 vaccine 'Covishield' arrived at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport from Pune. While, Covaxin developer Bharat Biotech aims to dispatch around 55 lakh vaccines to 11 states in the initial phase, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Chennai and Jaipur.

On January16, the Centre will launch the biggest COVID-19 vaccination drive. Around 3 crore people will be vaccinated, healthcare workers and the frontline workers are at the top of the priority list, followed by those above 50 years and the under-50 population groups with co-morbidities which number to around 27 crore.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the government will roll out the vaccines at 81 centres, progressively increase it to 175, and then to 1,000 centres.

The Centre has purchased around 1.10 crore doses of Covishield vaccine from the Serum Institute of India and another 55 lakh doses of Covaxin have been bought.
