New Delhi: The farmers' protests on the borders in the national capital against the new farm laws is going to further intensify as they have called for a 'Bharat Bandh' on Tuesday (December 8, 2020). Several political parties have extended their support for the Bharat Bandh, which is likely going to affect several services across the country, mainly Delhi-NCR.
The call for the Bharat Bandh by the farmer unions comes amid their several meetings with the Centre that couldn't break the deadlock. The farmers have camped outside as many as five borders across Delhi from almost two weeks demanding the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Centre to repeal the three farm reforms.
The farmers claim that these laws end the minimum support price system in the future and will give corporates total control over agriculture sector.
Here are the services that are likely to be hit due to Bharat Bandh on December 8.
The traffic around Delhi-NCR is going to be badly affected as the protesting farmers have said that they will block the routes leading to the national capital. As per a farmers' leader, the 'Chakka jam' will take place till 3 PM on December 8.
The traffic flow in several other parts of the country will also be affected due to the sit-in protests.
