New Delhi: In a much-needed relief to rain-battered Maharashtra, the weather department on Saturday revealed that the intensity of rainfall along the west coast is expected to decrease over the next 24 hours.
The authorities continued search operations for those missing after landslides, while traffic remained suspended on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway as a stretch in neighbouring Kolhapur was still inundated, officials said.

NDRF personnel carry out a rescue operation in a flood-affected area in Kohlapur. An extensive search is on for missing persons, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said in a statement, adding that rescue and relief operations are being run in Maharashtra`s Raigad, Ratnagiri and Satara districts. For immediate response during the flood in any part of the country, 149 NDRF teams have been deployed or prepositioned, the force said.
